2007年に出版した「自然再生への挑戦―応用生態工学の視点からー」
（学報社 ISBN ： 978-4-904079-00-3 ）を英訳した本、
「The Restoration of Nature in Japan―A Challenge to Ecological

これらの本（日本語版、英訳本）は、日本における自然再生事業等の
事例を応用生態工学の視点から分析・報告したものであり、河川、砂防、
道路、都市、・公園、農業、森林、海岸、港湾、水産、空港、自然公園等、
日本において実施されているほとんどの公共的事業の現場を網羅して
います。
2007年に出版した日本語版を今回英訳するに当たり、オーストラリア・
クイーズランド大学名誉教授の橘川次郎先生に全面的にお願いしました。
橘川先生は、応用生態工学会の名誉会員でもあり元副会長です。
今回製作した英訳本は、東アジアを含め諸外国に日本の応用生態工学
的な取り組みを発信することを主な目的としています。さらに、英語版と
日本語版が揃ったことにより、日本の学生や留学生などが公共事業や環
境について学べる英語の教科書としても有用な本となっています。
